Catalyst Coaching & Training
uses state-of-the-art interactive adult learning techniques based on the model Tell – Show – Do. Most adults learn optimally when they receive new conceptual information in manageable chunks, observe what they are learning demonstrated by an expert, debrief what they saw, and have the opportunity to practice what they learned to get new knowledge and skill into cellular memory.

All of our training designs are based on this model. Without exception, the facilitator speaks far less than the participants. The participants are fully engaged in multiple learning experiences throughout the entire time.


Our Active Training Programs Include...

Assertive Communication

This 1-day workshop assists participants to understand what assertive communication is, how important it is in business, and how to improve their effectiveness in using it. Participants will have the confidential opportunity to identify their current level of assertiveness and target specific areas that, when strengthened, will result in obtaining the results they want. They will understand common barriers that keep individuals from building the kind of trust, support, and partnership that makes working with others exciting — and facilitates achieving optimal results. Most importantly, they will learn how to prevent or remove those barriers if they encounter them in the future. In the training, they will create role plays based on past real life challenges and rewrite history using their new skill sets. Finally, they will create goals and an action plan for increasing their assertive communication over time.

Conflict Resolution

This 1-day workshop assists participants to improve their effectiveness in understanding sources of conflict and different ways to resolve it. Participants will learn their default conflict resolution approach as well as how to use other approaches when it would be more productive, to think and communicate effectively, and to collaborate with others. They will learn to transform barriers that keep them from building the trust, support, and partnership that makes working with others exciting — and facilitates achieving optimal results.

FLEXCommunication

In this 1-day workshop, each participant will gain an increased understanding of their natural communication style using MBTI® or DiSC®, the impact their style predictably  has on others, and build skill in learning to FLEX their communication style to the — often unspoken — needs of their followers and colleagues. Participants discover for themselves through interactive exercises how powerful it is to pay attention to the non-verbal cues that others give. They will learn how to FLEX to meet the needs of the people with whom they work thus increasing their probability of getting the results they want quickly and efficiently.

FLEXSelling

This 2-day workshop, using either DiSC® or MBTI®, teaches sales professionals how to build relationships, identify client communication needs, and sell to meet those needs. This interactive training includes videotaping a sales presentation of each participant to their most challenging customer type & receiving plus-delta feedback specific to how they can improve in selling to those customers that present the greatest challenge.

L4 Leadership

There has been an acknowledged crisis in leadership around the world for over 20 years: Not enough leaders have been developed, leaders who have learned to strike the balance between vision and the discipline of management, leaders who know how to capitalize on the strengths and knowledge inherent within their organizations. Both effective management and effective leadership are necessary to drive an enterprise. Both are learned skills. Effective is defined as just the amount of leadership and management that it takes to increase performance of people within and around the organization to the next level.

This 2-day workshop identifies the various styles of leadership that all participants will learn to use flexibly to meet the needs of the situation and the people in it. It includes a multi-rater assessment from key internal customers that helps participants compare their self-perceptions about their leadership and management styles to the perceptions of their most valuable internal customers across two dimensions: actual and desired.

Participants learn when a particular style is effective versus ineffective as well as how to subtly flex styles when needed, assess performance potential of individuals, conduct a situational analysis, and capitalize on group dynamics to increase performance levels of individuals and teams.

Strategic Hiring using Profiling

This 2-day workshop includes taking selected pre-employment assessments & learning how to utilize them in our Strategic Hiring process to hire the best available people in the labor market. This includes learning how to ask open-ended questions to obtain maximum information from candidates, how to check references and get critical data for decision-making, how to evaluate candidates against the hiring target. Organizations that have implemented this systematic process report superb results in hiring that has helped to create resilient, flexible organizations which have consistently positioned themselves to meet the needs of the marketplace.

Working with Emotional Intelligence

This 1-day workshop includes taking the widely recognized and validated measure of emotional Intelligence developed over 25 years of research by Dr. Reuven Bar-on, the Emotional Intelligence Inventory. The EQ-i is used in hiring top gun pilots in the US Air Force, placement in the NASA Astronaut program, and other comparable positions throughout the world. Research indicates that IQ accounts for approximately 20% of success on the job, strategic thinking for 30% of success and EQ for 50%.

In this workshop, participants will learn what emotional intelligence (EQ) is, how it enables them to obtain better results in every situation, the impact on the enterprise of hiring high versus low EQ employees, and create goals and an action plan to advance their own professional development.
